The inspectors of the Postal Consignment Department at the Customs of Air Cargo and Private Airports have foiled an attempt to smuggle hashish into Qatar.
The General Directorate of Customs (GAC) said, in a report on its website, that 1.69kg of hashish was found inside the shipment of personal items, coming from an Asian country. Such seizures are a result of the efficiency of customs inspectors, despite the camouflage methods used to conceal contraband.
“Customs inspectors now have the skills and capabilities to detect drugs and prohibited substances, using modern equipment, enabling GAC to move to more advanced stages to prevent the smuggling of narcotic substances through ports,” GAC added.
