The organisation’s clinical team – nurses, social workers, doctors and pain specialists – work together to deliver personalised, integrative care. Alongside this, their non-clinical support team ensures every Veteran receives consistent coordination, advocacy and guidance throughout their pain management journey. The goal is simple: provide comprehensive, compassionate care that helps Veterans move toward a more comfortable and fulfilling life.
The Role
You will conduct follow-up telehealth consultations with Veterans, supporting continuity of care within our structured pain management program. Treatment plans may include medicinal cannabis where clinically appropriate, delivered strictly in accordance with DVA and TGA regulations and with the guidance of a Pain Specialist.
This role is ideal for practitioners seeking flexible, meaningful clinical work without the demands of a traditional practice setting.

Requirements
- AHPRA General Registration
- Medicinal Cannabis Authorised Prescriber (Desirable – If not currently accredited, we can facilitate this process)
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Experience with DVA patients (Desirable)
- Able to start January/February 2026
- Competent and comfortable conducting telehealth consultations
- Reliable internet connection and remote work setup

Position Title: Medicinal Cannabis Authorised Prescriber (AP) Doctor

About The Role: We are seeking a qualified Authorised Prescriber (AP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medicinal cannabis, hold the necessary qualifications to prescribe cannabis-based treatments, and be dedicated to advancing patient care through alternative therapies.
Please Note: This position is entirely remote. Previous experience working from home is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients to determine their suitability for medicinal cannabis treatment based on medical history, symptoms, and conditions.
- Prescribe medicinal cannabis to eligible patients as part of their treatment plan.
- Renew prescriptions for eligible patients as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with the Clinical Manager who overseas our prescribing team.
- Provide patient education as required on the benefits, risks, and proper usage of medicinal cannabis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Authorised Prescriber (AP) status for Medicinal Cannabis is mandatory.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and ability to prescribe Schedule 8 medication.
- In-depth understanding of prescribing medicinal cannabis treatments and associated conditions.
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape for medicinal cannabis in Australia.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of the endocannabinoid system, cannabis pharmacology, and recent medical research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable and responsive.
- Proficiency with technology.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
