Agenda update for our 6th Annual Psychedelic Therapeutics & Drug Development Conference. We’ve just confirmed several timely additions that speak directly to where the field is headed next:
One new talk will take a hard look at the growing excitement around non-hallucinogenic psychedelic approaches and ask an important question: if you remove the acute psychedelic experience, do you still preserve the durable psychiatric benefit we’ve seen in full-session models? Manesh Girn, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, FIVE Discovery will explore what current clinical, psychological, and neuroimaging findings suggest about this assumption, and why these compounds may ultimately be better positioned as neuroregenerative therapeutics in indications like TBI and neurodegenerative disease, where the goal is controlled neurorepair rather than psychotherapeutic change.
We’re also pleased to welcome Steve Levine, MD, Chief Patient Officer, Compass Pathways, who will speak to the industry-wide shift from research into clinical practice and what it actually takes to prepare for a paradigm-changing future in mental health. His talk will focus on how Compass is thinking about bridging the patient experience from the clinical trial environment to real-world care, enabling patient access, and building the operational and commercial foundations needed for broader adoption.
Given how quickly regulatory expectations are evolving in this space, we’ve added a dedicated perspective on what teams should be watching and planning for now. Marion Coe, Ph.D., Director, Clinical Development and Postmarketing Surveillance, Pinney Associates, will share recent regulatory lessons and emerging themes relevant to psychedelic drug development, including key considerations for engaging with regulators, navigating clinical pathways, and anticipating areas of focus as programs mature.
And finally, we’ve confirmed a market-facing session that zooms out to the full commercialization picture. Kevin Lanzo, PharmD (Executive in Residence) and Armin Khayatian (Principal) of Lionheart Ventures will offer a venture capital perspective on what it takes to move from molecule to market, touching on how investors evaluate clinical and regulatory risk, adoption readiness, scalability, manufacturing realities, provider infrastructure, reimbursement dynamics, and partnership strategy as these therapies approach late-stage development and launch planning. |
