The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Reporting to the Chair of the Cannabis Control Board (CCB) and the Executive Director of the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), the Secretary and Counsel to the Cannabis Control Board (the “Secretary”) will be responsible for oversight and governance of the CCB meetings as well as providing legal support to the CCB. Duties will include, but are not limited to: • Prepare, manage, and distribute the agenda and materials for CCB meetings in collaboration with the Chair and senior OCM leadership. • Assist in the conduct of CCB meetings by ensuring all procedural requirements are met and facilitate the flow of information. • Draft proposed CCB decisions. • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of CCB meetings, including detailed minutes, resolutions, and actions taken. • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to CCB operations and decision-making. • Act as a liaison between the CCB and OCM management. • Manage and safeguard critical CCB governance documents, including bylaws, policies, and meeting records.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have been admitted to the New York State Bar and must have had seven years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar.Preferred Qualifications: • Experience as an attorney representing a regulatory agency in licensing and compliance/enforcement matters, including appearing in administrative proceedings and drafting proposed decisions, regulations and legislation.• 10 years of active practice of law while licensed as an attorney in New York State.• 2 years of experience as an attorney employed in a state government agency.NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES.
