2025-09-15 | The association “Franken Cannabis” in Buttenheim is shutting down after losing a case before the Bayreuth Administrative Court, reports BR. The court upheld the Bamberg district office’s ban on cultivating cannabis and distributing it to members in a property only approved as a warehouse. The club had been the first in Bavaria to distribute cannabis. The board accused the authority of perverting the law and filed charges against several employees. While Bavaria’s Ministry of Construction demands special zoning areas for cannabis cultivation clubs, the federal Ministry of Construction advocates a less strict interpretation. Other clubs are also awaiting rulings.
