Canada’s top cannabis export destination in 2017? Germany.
As far as dried cannabis products go, Germany received nearly all of it — more than 520 kilograms (or 1,146 pounds) — while the next country down, Czech Republic, received just over 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds). With oils, Germany was still on top, with more than 183 liters (48 gallons), but Australia was a close second, with just over 158 liters (42 gallons). Unlike in the U.S., Canadian cannabis companies can export products, but only for scientific or medical purposes. With this advantage, Canadian companies are going global in a way that U.S. companies are not easily able to. So, with that permission, how much cannabis did Canadian companies export in 2017, and where? Check out this data Cannabis Wire compiled from Health Canada: 11: Number of companies with export permits 47: Export permits for dried cannabis
