Cannabis Staffing Firm Receives $2M Investment

The United Green, a national staffing agency based in Auburn Hills with solutions for the cannabis and hemp industries, has received a $2 million investment from Florida’s CapStone Holdings, a business incubator and investment group.

The investment is the latest by CapStone in established companies serving medical cannabis needs. Over the course of 2020, the cannabis industry added more than 77,000 jobs, according to Leafly, an online cannabis education platform. Cannabis is legalized for medical use in 35 states and Washington, D.C.

“The medical marijuana industry is counting on reliability and quality from growers and producers, as well as qualified staff at retail locations,” says Keith J. Stone, founder and chairman of CapStone. “This can only be achieved through well-trained, qualified employees and contract personnel. With decades of experience in the staffing and recruitment profession and a proven reputation serving the cannabis and hemp industries, United Green’s growth potential is very strong.”

Since its founding in 2018, United Green has provided contract and direct hire services to U.S. companies in all areas of the cannabis production industry, including grow facilities and farms, transport, extraction, testing, manufacturing, and provisioning.

The company is serving companies across the country and are looking to assist growers and other companies ramping up in states that recently legalized cannabis. The $2 million investment will assist United Green with operational expansion.

“Lately, grow and production operations in the Midwest and East Coast are starting and scaling, which means they have temporary and permanent staffing needs to meet their success objectives,” says Craig Petersmark, founder and owner of The United Green.
