If you follow the minutae of Australian Cannabis industry body organisations you’ll know there used to be two bodies, both names i now forget , who after much dithering and discussion have forged to become one.
It is called Medicinal Cannabis Council Australia or MCCA, another name that will constantly escape me in the years to come and i will always have to google it to check exactly who they are.
As Cannabiz Australia have just interviewed their new CEO, Gail Morgan, who is embedded in the Australia Cannerati scene along with it seems everybody else connected with this mysterious organisation.
Why do i say mysterious?
Well because the first thing i always do is check that the website works properly – it doesn’t.
That went well !
If you want to know about them this is the best i could find.

I’m presuming most of their money comes from cannabis industry or similar.
Officially I can tell you
Lots of “Donations & Bequests” . from whom? it would be interesting to know.
Let’s hope not too much from Montu who it has just been revealed may have Montu accused of deleting documents in TGA advertising case
I do love the classic “all other expenses” – so beloved of another of my favourite outfits, The Last Prisoner Project in the US
This is the intro to the Cannabiz interview – the rest of it is behind a paywall.

At long last somebody who actually might know something about Medical Cannabis, Priya is a real doctor, yes a real one. She works for Releaf.
That said Releaf’ is the company who did a deal to sell Cookies in Australia. a west coast USA recreational cannabis outfit that’s more of a brand than a business run by former rapper Gilbert Anthony Milam Jr. aka Berner
The man lives in a constant state of litigation and i’ve never really been sure what the Cookies product line actually has to do with what’s defined as “medical” cannabis in Australia. I’m sure Priya as the controller of prescriptions at the company can tell me.
Finally there is Sharon Bentley and yes you guessed it Sharon is the CEO of a cannabis company. Hers is called Medicinal Cannabis Australia (MCA)
In usual Australian fashion a self -selecting elite is in the making and consolidating across the board.
It is the Australian way of doing things and cannabis is no different; but remember we are all just ordinary down to earth Aussies
