Critical communication update for applicants and licensees

Only the designated responsible party or owner applicant can ask application and license specific questions or submit a form 27.

The designated responsible party (DRP) is the individual owner identified by the commercial cannabis business with the legal authority to bind the business and serve as the primary contact for application and license-related issues. DRP is a contact type currently used in the CLS licensing system. The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) considers the owner-applicant contact type used in the CLEaR licensing system the DRP for an application or license.

The DRP is the only contact type that can make inquiries specific to an application or license.

The DRP must submit the inquiry using the email address on the application or license associated with the DRP. Within the inquiry, the DRP may copy a contact listed on the application or license and provide written permission for DCC to communicate with the copied individual regarding that specific inquiry. However, the DRP must remain on the email thread until the inquiry is closed. The DRP must follow this process for each inquiry submitted to DCC specific to the application or license.

The DRP is the only contact type allowed to submit a notification or a request to modify a license.

To submit a notification or a request to modify a license, including a contact change, the DRP should complete form DCC-LIC-027, attach any supporting documentation, and submit the completed materials to DCC using the DRP email address associated with the license.
