Cucumber haul used to smuggle $3.7M in cocaine, CBP says

That is what U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found on June 24 when they searched a tractor-trailer that arrived from Mexico at the Pharr International Bridge in Pharr, Texas.

First, a drug-sniffing dog alerted officers, then an X-ray scan revealed anomalies in the trailer, which was supposed to be hauling only cucumbers.

Instead, officers found 112 packages containing just under 300 pounds of cocaine hidden within the trailer.

CBP said the drugs had a street value of $3.7 million.
