Guidance Updates

Following decisions at the Board’s December meeting, the CCB has updated two guidance documents:

• Advertising
  • Updated to include new 5-second audio-only health warnings and direct mail guidance.
• Product Labeling and Product Registration
  • Updated to reflect changes to guidance regarding multi-serving gummies. A previous requirement that individual units include no more than two 5mg doses was removed. Manufacturers seeking to register multi-serving gummies must demonstrate consistent separability using video or samples. The Board may also require enhanced package and label instructions.

New Adverse Event and Complaint Form

The CCB recently launched a revamped Adverse Event and Complaint Form on our website. This form replaces the previous complaint form and combines multiple types of events to be reported to the Compliance and Enforcement Division:

• Adverse event (an unwanted medical reaction or problem from using a cannabis product)
• Unlawful activity at a cannabis business (or complaints related to a cannabis business, unlicensed cannabis business, unlawful advertising, concerns about fraudulent or unlawful business or trade practices)
• Issue with a cannabis product or packaging
• Intoxicating hemp sales

Any information submitted in the form is kept private, and the CCB does not provide updates on any investigation that might arise from the form.
