The Indonesian Navy thwarted the smuggling of 1.3 tons of suspected ketamine in the waters of Bintan, Riau Islands. This area has become a strategic route for international drug smuggling.
JAKARTA, KOMPAS – The Indonesian Navy Command has thwarted the smuggling of 1.3 tons of ketamine narcotics in the waters of Tanjung Berakit, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands.
The narcotics were hidden inside 65 sacks by the crew members of the MV King Sun, which flies the Tanzanian flag. Currently, seven crew members are still under investigation to uncover the origins and the shipping route of the vessel.
