JOB SUMMARY

Are you an experienced Investigator looking to expand your career? If so, we may have the opportunity for you! The AGLC is looking for an experienced Investigator to join our Due Diligence Unit.

 

Our Investigator position in Due Diligence is primarily responsible for ensuring integrity throughout Alberta in the gaming and cannabis industries regulated by the AGLC. Reporting to the Manager, Due Diligence, this role involves conducting confidential due diligence investigations on designated cannabis and gaming applicants requiring licensing/registration pursuant to the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Act and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Regulation (section 9). This includes reviewing confidential personal and corporate information, conducting indices searches, conducting interviews, performing analysis and preparing concise reports outlining the results of the due diligence investigation.

 

In this position you will take on the role as Investigator of all criminal/background inquiries. You will manage and prioritize a large number of case files, and will work closely with a Financial Investigator. Proven strong investigative skills, excellent time management skills, attention to detail, strong research skills including open source and social media, demonstrated leadership, strong conceptual and problem solving abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills are requirements of this position. The ability to deal with the public in a professional manner is paramount.

Travel is required in this role; as such, a valid Canadian Non GDL driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract, and valid passport are conditions of employment.

 

 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related post-secondary diploma in law enforcement or security with a minimum of five (5) years investigative experience is required.
  • Fraud Investigation designation (Certified Forensic Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner) will be considered an asset.
