In a social media post headed ‘SHROOOOOM!’ this morning, An Garda Síochána Laois Offaly said: ‘The only trip continuing that evening was the one to the garda station.
‘The M8 isn’t Rainbow Road. Mushroom Boosts only work in Mario Kart … not in a BMW.’
MAGIC mushrooms and cannabis were found in a car when the driver was caught doing 167kph in Laois.
The motorist’s day became considerably less magical when the BMW was pulled in by the Laois Roads Policing Unit on the M8 motorway.
Gardaí said today that the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and was charged to appear before Portlaoise District Court.
The cannabis and magic mushrooms were seized, while the car was impounded and towed away from the motorway.
