Officers confiscated hundreds of Ecstasy pills and over 6 kilograms (13.2 pounds) of suspected hashish in a “targeted and proactive” drug-busting operation at the entrance to Haifa, police say.
Police suspect the substances were meant to be sold.
Officers found the substances in a car they stopped for investigation after they identified it as suspicious, and they also arrested three residents of southern Israel who are suspected of involvement in the case, police say.
The three have been brought before a judge, who extended their detention until Sunday, August 30, according to the statement.
“Israel Police will keep acting resolutely against parties involved in drug offenses, by locating and arresting them, in order to prevent the distribution of drugs and keep the public safe,” police say.
The statement does not specify when the drug bust took place.
