A company in Jersey growing hemp is warning islanders the crop is illegal if taken from one of their fields following a theft last week.
An individual was spotted cutting off some of the plant from a field, they then sped off in a car.
The incident was spotted on CCTV and has been reported to the police
The Jersey Hemp company says it is an industrial crop when in the field, but if found in the possession of someone it is known as an illegal controlled substance.
The business owners say levels of the psycho active element THC are extremely low in the plant and would not have any effect on a person.
