Join us virtually or in person for the Department of Cannabis Control’s (DCC) Cannabis Advisory Committee meetings Sept. 5-7, 2023.

During the CAC meeting, the Agricultural Labor Relations Board will provide a presentation on Labor Peace Agreements for cannabis businesses. Cannabis businesses with 20 or more employees (or, after July 1, 2024, 10 or more employees) are required to enter into, and abide by, a Labor Peace Agreement with a bona fide labor organization. Cannabis businesses with 20 or more employees (or, after July 1, 2024, 10 or more employees) are required to , and abide by, a Labor Peace Agreement with a bona fide labor organization. This presentation will provide information related to those requirements.

The CAC will also receive reports from the Equity, Cultivation, and Public Health and Community Impact Subcommittees, and will consider adoption of any recommendations received from the subcommittees.   

The Equity Subcommittee will discuss how state law currently defines “equity” in Business and Professions Code section 26249, and whether that definition can be further refined. The subcommittee will also hear an update from the DCC Equity and Inclusion Division. 

The Cultivation Subcommittee will discuss labeling requirements as they relate to the Appellations of Origin program. DCC is requesting feedback from the subcommittee related to the development of regulations to implement this program. 

Finally, the Public Health and Community Impact Subcommittee will be provided with an update on the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Think Tank on High Potency Cannabis and will also receive a presentation on CDPH data dashboards.   

You may now attend the meetings in person at DCC’s headquarters located at 2920 Kilgore Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. Meetings will be held in the Hearing Room located on the first floor. When you arrive, please be prepared to show your identification to the security guard and you will be issued a badge for entry into the hearing room.
