In a world of Trumps, Hesgeths & Millers it is sometimes hard to remember that the real voice of American exceptionalism still exists at the grassroots.
Ken is one of those voices and i’ll be listening to this conversation of mine with him every time the news drives me crazy , which is about daily at the moment.
We discuss the current us industrial agricultural environment, the food crisis in America, working globally on an equal footing with partners, education, helping the next generations and changing the story about hemp as a crop.
Essentially, all the good stuff!
Talking to him I’m reminded of a US farmer & president from the 1970’s.. Maybe it’s time for Ken Elliott for president!
Although I think I’d prefer he stay with us in the world of hemp and cannabis
Ken Elliott is the President and Founder of IND HEMP LLC (https://www.indhemp.com/) which is a hemp oilseed and fiber company located in Ft Benton, Montana. IND HEMP is focused on creating opportunity for farmers and rural communities by providing an alternative rotational crop, Industrial Hemp. We work with farmers throughout Montana to grow hemp for both grain and fiber and then we process these crops at our state-of-the-art facilities. In addition, we work with farmers and processors around the US to help those who are working to build the hemp industry in their communities. A link to how IND HEMP supports rural development and creates opportunities for our farmers can be found here: (https://youtu.be/JeixgYaBVVQ)
Industrial Hemp is an amazing healthy food as well as a renewable fiber material that can be used to launch the next industrial revolution that focuses on human health, environmental care, and providing a better place for our kids and grandkids. Industrial Hemp can sequester more carbon dioxide than any other commodity crop being raised in the US and makes for an ideal rotational crop to build healthy soil and carbon credits. IND HEMP is committed to making change where we can and working with others that want to be a part of something better. We call it, “The Goodness of Hemp”.
When I am not working on hemp, I am busy supporting our family run non-profit Tikkun Olam Ministries (https://repairourworld.org/) which focuses on bringing teachers to the Ft Peck Indian Reservation in Wolf Point, Montana. By focusing on helping those people in need and working hand-in-hand with folks who want to make life better for others, Tikkun Olam can repair what is broken in our world and leave a legacy that speaks to the goodness of who we are.
