Leafly Gives Up On News & Is Only Going To Concentrate On Revenue Generating Content

Leafly is shuttering its journalism arm Led by Bruce Barcott, who’s departing the company, it produced numerous important stories. Perhaps most memorable was its coverage of the 2019 vape crisis.

In an email to staff, CEO Yoko Miyashita wrote that the remaining content operation will focus on “revenue generating” functions like driving shopper behavior versus investigative reporting.”
