As we come to the end of the year, we are pleased to announce the adoption of new and updated rules for Oregon Psilocybin Services (OPS). These rules address data collection and reporting required by Senate Bill 303, requirements for training program curriculum approval, and technical fixes to previously adopted rules. The rules can be found on the OPS Administrative Rules page and will be effective January 1, 2024. OPS Letter to Public - 2023 RulesThe new and updated rules were informed by over 200 written public comments and over four hours of public hearings during the November 2023 public comment period. Public hearings offered Spanish interpretation, American Sign Language interpretation, and communication access real time translation (CART captioning). We would like to extend our gratitude to members of the Rules Advisory Committees (RACs), who convened for a total of nine hours of public meetings to discuss the draft rules, and to all who participated in the public comment period for volunteering your time to improve the proposed revised rules, which have now been adopted. We invite you to read our Letter to the Public (attached) which highlights frequent themes identified during the public comment period and how they have been addressed in the final rules. You can also read the Hearings Officer Report (also attached) which summarizes comments and testimony received during the November 2023 public comment period. As a reminder, OPS expects to hold public listening sessions each summer and open administrative rules for public comment during the fall of each year as we continue to refine our implementation of Oregon Psilocybin Services Act. You can learn more about the rulemaking process by going to the OPS Administrative Rules webpage. We hope you enjoy these last days of 2023 and are excited to continue engaging with you all in the coming new year! Sincerely,
