We have renamed our prior index the Global Cannabis Stock Index, and you can now look at the intraday price action delayed by only fifteen minutes, as well as several other time-frames in order to understand the big picture. The rules of the index remain the same and are included, along with the constituents. Interestingly, over half of the names that qualify for inclusion are Canadian, including licensed producers, which make up about 23% of the index.

The new Canadian Cannabis LP Index is an equal-weighted index that includes all 28 publicly-traded LPs and is denominated in Canadian dollars. This index, which goes back to the beginning of 2016, is rebalanced at the end of each month and is the only index that is tracking solely Canadian LPs. Additionally, we have parsed the market into three segments that you can access from that page:

Not all LPs move in unison, and this segmentation allows readers to learn, for instance, that the year-to-date decline is due to weakness in Tier 1 names on average, as Tier 2 and Tier 3 are actually up modestly. All 5 indices are professionally managed by New Cannabis Ventures and 420 Investor, which has been covering the publicly-traded sector since 2013.
