New restrictions on adult-use marijuana in Ohio take effect Friday after a group seeking to block them failed to gather enough valid signatures to place a repeal measure on the November ballot.
The group Ohioans for Cannabis Choice said it did not collect enough valid signatures to qualify for the fall ballot. The deadline to submit signatures is Thursday.
The new restrictions include a ban on smoking marijuana in public places, new limits on the potency of legal marijuana products, and a ban on possessing marijuana grown outside Ohio.
THC drinks will also only be sold through licensed dispensaries under the new rules.
