Part of Former Lexis Nexis Campus To Become Weed Dispensary!

Oh how we laughed …..

Three proposed projects in Miami Township are set to be discussed in February.

On Feb. 10 at 6 p.m., Miami Township zoning commission members will meet to discuss proposed projects of a new cannabis business, mixed-use land development and improvements to a sports field.

Cannabis Dispensary

Certified Cultivators 3, LLC is wanting to open a cannabis dispensary at 8181 N. Springboro Pike. The dispensary would be dual use, described as “adult use and medical,” if approved.

Frisch’s Big Boy occupied the space for decades until the location closed in 2024. Dolly’s Burgers & Shakes operated int the building after Frisch’s for several months, but has since closed.

If approved, the applicant believes it will take an estimated eight to 12 months to obtain the necessary certificates from Miami Township and the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control.

The developer explained in an application that the company transformed a former Columbus-area Frisch’s location into the same use business.

To prevent the smell of “any odor that is commonly associated with cannabis,” the applicant alleges they will require delivered products to be “delivered in final, sealed packaging.”

Each day, roughly five to six deliveries would occur to the location.

“All cannabis deliveries will take place in a secure delivery bay (fenced in area) that has access control security and is under 24/7 video surveillance,” said the letter.

A letter to the township shows around 30 employees would work at the business, if approved. Additionally, the business would operate daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and would have security personnel.

No loitering or on-site consumption would be able to occur.

Multi-Use Redevelopment

New life is proposed for the former LexisNexis campus.

Proposed plans call for 9443, 9473, 9393, 9555 and 9595 N. Springboro Pike to become a mixed-use space with commercial and residential spaces called “The Pike.”
