Jupiter Neurosciences has signed a licensing agreement with PharmAla Biotech Holdings for exclusive US rights to ALA-002. The deal marks Jupiter’s expansion from a single-asset company centred on its Parkinson’s disease. The MDMA drug is intended to treat neuropsychiatric disorders, such as PTSD, anxiety and more.
“We are looking at PTSD, ADHD, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and social anxiety disorder. All these populations put together, the projected market size by 2030 is about $8 to $9 billion,” Christer Rosén, CEO of Jupiter Neurosciences, said on an investors’ call this week. “Other players are working in the psychedelic space, but MDMA does own about 25% of that projection. So, with 15 million people in the US that are affected just by social anxiety disorder, you can imagine the profile of patients that we’d be able to reach with a drug that could potentially be in social anxiety disorder or other like disorders.”
