In 2018, a record number of U.S. cannabis firms turned to the Canadian Securities Exchange to fund their aggressive expansion plans, many of which are under way now, according to data from Viridian Capital Advisors that’s included in the latest issue of MJBizDaily Investor Intelligence, released today.

Alaska marijuana business owners to gain access to financial services
A nonprofit credit union in Alaska, Anchorage-based Credit Union 1, is set to begin offering financial services to cannabis companies in the state in March, which will allow those businesses an avenue to reduce their reliance on cash.
Georgia bill seeks in-state medical marijuana growing and sales
Medical marijuana oil could be sold to patients in Georgia who are already allowed to use it, according to a bill being introduced Thursday.
The proposal calls for up to 10 medical marijuana dispensaries to serve the state’s rising number of registered patients — 8,400 so far. The drug would be legally grown, manufactured, tested, tracked and distributed for the first time if the legislation passes.
