Suspected cocaine trafficker ‘Bow Wow’ arrested in Mexico after fleeing Okeechobee County

A Florida fugitive accused of cutting off his ankle monitor and fleeing Okeechobee authorities has been arrested in Mexico, deputies say.

Deputies with the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office say Jose Guadalupe Romero Jr., also known as “Bow Wow,” was wanted for aggravated battery, trafficking cocaine, tampering with a witness, and removing his court-ordered ankle monitor while out on bond.

On Thursday, the United States Marshals Service located Romero in Mexico, per OCSO.

Investigators allege Romero fled the country in an attempt to avoid prosecution after cutting off his ankle monitor while released on bond.
