Tasmania: Two charged with drug trafficking after 2kg of cannabis found in Somerset

Two people have been charged with drug trafficking after police found around 2kg of cannabis at a Somerset property in Tasmania’s north-west.

The discovery came after members of Taskforce Scelus tried to pull over an unregistered motorcycle being ridden by a teenage boy on Pelissier Street on Thursday.

The rider allegedly refused to stop and was later spotted riding into the driveway of a nearby home.

Officers went to the property and found the motorcycle.

The alleged rider, a 14-year-old boy, will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

During a search of the property, police say they found around 2kg of cannabis.
