Thailand’s Supreme Court rejects four appeals in a drug network case involving money laundering through car-trading activities in Myanmar.
Thailand’s Supreme Court has rejected appeals by four defendants in a drug-trafficking and money-laundering case involving 5.2 million methamphetamine pills, leaving death sentences against all five defendants in place.
The ruling was read at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road in Bangkok on Monday (September 7, 2026). The case concerned the financial operations of a drug network along the Thailand–Myanmar–Laos border.
The defendants were identified as Piyachat, Krittipong, Amphon, Somboon and Korakot, with their surnames withheld. All five denied the charges during the trial.
The trial court convicted all five and sentenced them to death, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal’s Narcotics Division. Krittipong, Amphon, Somboon and Korakot subsequently received permission to appeal to the Supreme Court. No party appealed the judgment concerning Piyachat, leaving her death sentence final.
