DHV expands protest against Warken’s anti-telemedicine law to SPD

14.11.2025 | The German Hemp Association (DHV) has extended its ongoing email campaign against the ban on telemedicine prescriptions and mail-order pharmacies for cannabis, planned by Health Minister Nina Warken, to include SPD parliamentarians, according to the association’s LinkedIn post. The background was uncritical statements from parts of the SPD parliamentary group, including parliamentary secretary Dirk Wiese, which raised doubts about whether the party would actually block the proposal in the Bundestag. Originally, the campaign had been directed exclusively at CDU/CSU members, even though SPD ministers had also approved the cabinet draft. At the same time, Wiese was appointed honorary ambassador for enjoyment by the Federal Association of the German Spirits Industry and Importers.

The DHV calls on citizens to write directly to the members of parliament in their constituency to strengthen the personal connection and avoid overwhelming the offices with mass mailings. The organization provides a list of the responsible MPs as well as a sample letter summarizing the main points of criticism
