“Year-end Recap & What Lies Ahead for the ICIA in 2026”

with Mary Jane Oatman – Executive Director of ICIA and

Rob Pero – ICIA President

As we close out 2025, join ICIA for our year-end recap that reflects on where we’ve been and looks ahead to what’s coming next for the hemp and cannabis industry.

This year brought significant movement across the industry. From major conversations at MJBizCon, to shifting federal signals around cannabis reform, including renewed administrative discussion around rescheduling, 2025 underscored just how quickly the policy and business landscape continues to evolve. At the same time, changes to federal hemp policy, state-level agreements such as those emerging in Minnesota, and ongoing regulatory uncertainty have created both challenges and new opportunities for Tribes navigating sovereignty, commerce, and compliance.

Hosted by Rob Pero and Mary Jane Oatman, this Lunch & Learn will place those developments in context while also reflecting on what ICIA has accomplished since its inception; from advocacy and policy engagement to convening spaces for connection, education, and Indigenous leadership. We’ll close with a look ahead to 2026, outlining what to watch, where momentum is building, and how ICIA plans to continue supporting members in a changing environment.
