The Legalise Cannabis WA Party has announced former Rockingham councillor Dr Craig Buchanan as its candidate for the upcoming Secret Harbour by-election.
Dr Buchanan, a long-term resident of the South Metropolitan Region, previously served two terms on the City of Rockingham Council.
He holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia and spent more than 20 years working in the university sector before later undertaking parliamentary advisory roles.
The party said Dr Buchanan’s campaign would focus on cannabis law reform, including changes to driving laws affecting medicinal cannabis patients, workplace protections and improving access to medicinal cannabis.
