The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Michigan law enforcement to combat drug trafficking along key transportation corridors.
Deputies from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office acted on a tip about narcotics being transported through the area. They stopped a Freightliner tractor-trailer near mile marker 34 eastbound for a traffic violation, leading to the discovery of 50 kilograms of cocaine during a search of the truck and its trailer.
