2 arrested, 3 pounds of psychedelics seized after 189-mph pursuit on I-15 in Southern Utah

Two men are in custody after allegedly evading law enforcement in central and southern Utah during a high-speed chase.

A Utah Highway Patrol Trooper in Sevier County clocked a Dodge Charger without a license plate at roughly 166 miles per hour on I-70.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the vehicle reached the junction of I-70 and I-15 and continued southbound towards Beaver County Thursday night.

The vehicle was spotted again and another Trooper tried to make a traffic stop.

“The vehicle took exit 112 southbound on I-15 towards Beaver Utah. The Charger moved to the shoulder of the road, passed a vehicle and reached a speed of 189 miles per hour in an 80 mile per hour zone,” the affidavit alleges.

According to the charging documents, the vehicle exited I-15 at exit 109 in Beaver City. The vehicle went left and traveled to Beaver, Utah. The vehicle was estimated to be traveling approximately 70 miles per hour on Main Street. The pursuit was terminated when the vehicle left the freeway.
