A woman has been charged after 56 pounds of weed were allegedly found in her luggage at the Memphis International Airport (MEM) on Sunday.
Kierra Carter, 21, is charged with marijuana possession with the intent to sell, a felony offense.
According to airport police, Carter’s luggage was found “busted open” on a bag cart just before noon on Sunday. Police say Carter gave them consent to search her bags, which led to the discovery of 56 pounds of marijuana.
She was then arrested and charged.
Court records show that Carter is free on a $5,000 bond approved by Judge Lee Wilson and is set to appear in court on April 23.
