£90k cannabis farm found in Scots town after flooded flat complaint

A flooded flat with dangerous electrics in a Scots town lead to a £90,000 cannabis farm find.

The fire service were alerted to the flooded home on Beaconsfield Terrace, Hawick at around 1pm on Friday March 12.

But when firefighters found nobody at home they forced entry and discovered the drugs operation inside.

Police then got a warrant and recovered £90,000 of cannabis.

Electricity at the flat had also been dangerously bypassed requiring the attendance of the Electricity Board to make it safe.

Sergeant Rourke of SBCAT said “Tackling drug misuse remains one of our key priorities and this is clearly a significant recovery of Class B drugs”
