Cannabis field set on fire in Aluthwela
Jan 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka Army and Kuda Oya Police have raided a cannabis field in the Aluthwela area in Wellawaya yesterday (02).
The cannabis plants were cultivated in an area of about an acre and their value was over Rs. 500,000, the police said.
The suspects had fled at the time of the raid and investigations are underway to find them.
The officers took steps to burn and destroy the cannabis plants.
