Cannabis user Jordan Ryan has appeared in court after police found he was growing his own crop.
Officers raided a flat where the 23-year-old had been staying after falling out with his pregnant girlfriend.
Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre heard they found 24 plants growing in the front room of the property in Liverpool Road, Kidsgrove.
Prosecutor Emma Thompson said: “Officers attended a first-floor flat as they were given information that cannabis was being grown inside.
“There was no one in when officers attended and found 24 cannabis plants being grown in the front room.
“The defendant subsequently handed himself in to a police station later that day.”
