Australia Police raid at Marian uncovers 115kg of cannabis in home allegedly purpose built for supply

Two men have been charged by police after they uncovered a complicated cannabis production set-up at a North Queensland home.

Police raided the house at Marian, 28km west of Mackay, on Friday. It was one of two properties searched on Kennys Road.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Tim Heller said it was a “substantial trafficking and production operation”.

“115kg of cannabis was located, which was a combination of growing cannabis, in preparation for packaging and approximately 50kg of packaged cannabis … ready for supply and sale in the community,” he said.

“The total street value of cannabis seized was in excess of $700,000.

Senior Sergeant Heller said police would allege the home was purpose-built for producing and packaging cannabis.

Rooms in the home were allegedly assigned to drying, packaging, and storing the drug.

Police also allegedly uncovered 87 MDMA capsules, 0.6 grams of cocaine, and 47 LSD tabs.
