Explainer Article: Everything you need to know about proposed ban on CBD products in Hong Kong

Bangkok Post

HONG KONG: Hong Kong’s law enforcement authorities have proposed outlawing CBD products this year, as cannabis-derived wellness items have gained popularity in the city recently.

The Security Bureau two weeks ago submitted a paper to the Legislative Council proposing amendments to list CBD – or cannabidiol, a substance derived from cannabis and its close relative, hemp – under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance within 2022, according to an earlier report of the South China Morning Post.

The South China Morning Post outlines everything you need to know about the development, and the potential impact of such a ban.
