As much as we laud Shoebridge’s comments about big tobacco we do wish they hired in some better researchers to understand what might happen if an Australian regulated adult cannabis use market ever actually comes into play.
One of the first things they’d learn from mature markets in the US & Canada and semi – legal markets in the EU is that smoking is out of favor and big tobacco is actually behind the game compared to alcohol companies, soft drinks corporations and the edibles market which is being dominated by an ever decreasing amount of big players.
In ill-informed discussion isn’t a discussion at all.
The real danger in Australia lies not with “big tobacco” or even the pharmas but Australia’s powerful alcohol industry and lobby and the sooner they understand this and create ways to combat “big alcohol” the safer consumers will be.
