Former Australia spinner has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged cocaine deal.

The alleged deal involved more than $300,000 of cocaine.

Former Australian leg-spinner Stuart MacGill has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged commercial-scale cocaine deal. The retired cricketer, known for his impressive bowling skills, came under the scrutiny of law enforcement authorities after a harrowing incident in April 2021 when he was reportedly kidnapped by armed individuals outside his residence in northern Sydney.

The 52-year-old, who has transitioned to the restaurant business after his cricketing career, recounted the traumatic experience on the Australian radio network SEN last year. According to MacGill, he was forcibly taken, assaulted, threatened, and eventually left stranded.

After a thorough and extensive investigation into the kidnapping incident, the police now assert that MacGill’s abduction may have been linked to his involvement in a drug transaction. The charges against MacGill include one count of knowingly participating in the supply of a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

According to local media, the alleged deal involves more than $300,000 of cocaine.
