Andrew Walcott, the 36-year-old electrician who was found with approximately $10 million worth of cocaine in his car, was remanded when he appeared in court on Monday.
Senior Parish Court judge Yvette Wenthworth-Miller ordered that the matter be postponed until December 13 to give sufficient time for Walcott’s file to be present.
On the new date, the accused is to answer to his charges of possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking cocaine and possession of criminal property.
It is reported that about 2:30 p.m. on November 18, detectives from the Narcotics and the St Catherine South Divisions were on operation in Old Harbour when the team stopped a Nissan motorcar driven by Walcott.
During a search of the vehicle, two rectangular parcels containing white powdery substance resembling cocaine weighing about two kilogrammes was discovered.
The car, the drugs, and about $10,000 were seized. Walcott was also arrested.
He was formally charged following a question and answer session.
