Here’s the firms announcement on Stanton joining the firm
PHOENIX – (January 2, 2024) – Nicole Stanton has joined Dorsey & Whitney LLP as a Partner in Phoenix, continuing the growth of this successful office.
Nicole is a veteran litigation and legal ethics counsel with over 20 years of experience. Most recently, Nicole served as the Vice President and General Counsel for Trulieve Cannabis Corp., a publicly traded company operating in nine states with $1.2 billion in annual revenue. Nicole received the Public Company General Counsel of the Year award by the Arizona Association of Corporate Counsel in April 2021. Prior to serving as General Counsel, Nicole was the Office Managing Partner at Quarles & Brady LLP, where she was responsible for the management of the Phoenix office as well as attorney recruitment and served as the firm’s assistant general counsel.
Nicole’s success as defense counsel has garnered her a great reputation across business practices, including being honored with several notable awards such as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Arizona from AZ Business Magazine and Phoenix Business Journal’s Most Admired Leaders. In her career, Nicole has also overseen a wide variety of legal aspects, including securities compliance, labor and employment disputes, regulatory compliance, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, land use and zoning, and contracts.
Nicole received her J.D. from the University of Arizona, College of Law, and her B.S. from the University of Utah. She has taught legal ethics at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, recently created and co-taught a course on Leadership in Law at the University of Arizona’s James E. Rodgers College of Law, and is a member of the prestigious American Law Institute.
