On January 20, 2024, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested Steven J. Wright, 33 of Lockport, NY for Driving While Intoxicated by Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Criminal Possession of a Narcotic 4th degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree.
On January 20, 2024, at 3:02 P.M., Troopers responded to Home Depot on Transit Road in the town of Lockport for a male in a vehicle possibly unresponsive. Troopers located Wright who was responsive upon arriving in a 2011 Ford Escape. While interviewing Wright, Troopers identified signs of impairment by drugs. Troopers identified in plain view on the passenger seat of his vehicle a glass pipe containing cocaine. Wright was also in possession of cocaine. Wright was placed under arrest and transported to SP Lockport for processing. Wright was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and a urine sample was taken.
Wright was transported to Niagara County Jail for centralized arraignment.
