A female lawyer, simply identified as Adaobi, has been nabbed with large quantities of different drugs in a raid on her home by the Homeland Security of the Abia State Government and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.
Among illicit drugs recovered from her home were cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and cash of over N500,000.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Homeland Security, Chukwunenye Alajemba, disclosed this at a news briefing Thursday in Umuahia.
At the briefing, attended by the Abia State Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, and State Commandant of the NDLEA, Amos Adelanwa, Governor Alex Otto’s SSA said the suspect, who he alleged “is a drug lord, has been into hard drug business for a few decades”.
Revealing that four other persons were arrested with her, Alajemba said: “On February 14, before midnight, the Office of Homeland Security, in collaboration with NDLEA personnel, conducted a successful joint operation on the premises of Adaobi at Arochukwu Street Umuahia.”
