Carolina:Man who brought 50lbs of weed through GSP Airport sentenced

he U.S. Department of Justice said an Upstate man was sentenced to federal prison for his role in a drug-fueled shootout at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

In January 2022, 21-year-old Tyree Smith and 34-year-old Raquentin Gray-Miller flew into GSP with suitcases that contained approximately 50 pounds of marijuana.

While loading the marijuana into vehicles in the parking garage beside the terminal, two other men drove up and tried to rob the drug traffickers. A gunfight broke out with dozens of shots being fired outside the airport.

Gray-Miller pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy. He was sentenced to two years in federal prison.

Multiple other men have already been sentenced in the case.
