An enormous cannabis farm discovered at a Bootle warehouse proved to be so big it took police officers five days to dismantle it.

Officers found the huge operation, made up of more than 5,000 cannabis plants, sprawled across 23 rooms.

Twelve people have been arrested following the bust, which began on Saturday (November 13).

Seven men who were found inside the building, on Goldsmith Street, were detained at around 8.35am.

A total of 5,860 cannabis plants and cuttings have now been seized, with an estimated street value of around £5m.
