Quasi 15 kilograms of hashish were seized by the local police Modena in a commercial space in the Via del Mercato area used as a dormitory by some people and another 2,4 kilos of narcotics were found in the house, attributable to the same tenant, where a twenty-year-old Tunisian who was arrested was staying.
The huge drug seizure occurred during checks conducted by the area operators together with the Anti-Evasion unit and emergency operators, following the signslazions of residents who indicated a suspicious coming and going of people in the rooms on the ground floor of some adjacent buildings.
Once on site, the officers ascertained the presence of some straniyou were of North African origin, legal on the national territory, who had sublet the premises used as guest houses.
Once the checks on people were completed, structural checks of the premises began which led to the highlighting of discrepancies compared to the plans, for which investigations are underway.
But above all in one of the rooms and in the presence of the owner of the property who was unrelated to the facts, the officers found a large quantity of narcotic substance, equal to exactly 14 kilograms and 838 grams of hashish, divided into blocks and kept inside packaging open seeds.
The local police then carried out immediate extensive searches in other properties connected to the same tenant and in an apartment, in another area of the city, they found 2,4 kilograms of hashish divided into blocks and 20 grams of cocaine in heat-sealed doses, as well as a dog-repellent pistol without a red cap and with two precision scales.
During the search, a 20-year-old Tunisian national, illegal on Italian territory and with a criminal record for other crimes, domiciled in the house, attempted several times to hit the officers in uniform to prevent them from continuing their activity.
He was then arrested for possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing and for resistance and on the orders of the magistrate on duty of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Modena, was taken to the Sant’Anna prison to await validation from the judge for the preliminary investigations.
