USA: Greenfield man sentenced to almost 5 years in prison for trafficking marijuana, receiving stolen property

A Greenfield man was sentenced Tuesday to nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to four felony charges contained in a 12-count indictment.

As previously reported, Dylan Rodgers, 25, was indicted in March on one count each of trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, trafficking in hashish (solid) and possession of hashish (solid), all third-degree felonies; having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; three counts of receiving stolen property, all fourth-degree felonies; one count each of trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, both fourth-degree felonies; possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony; and a forfeiture specification.

Rodgers pleaded guilty May 7 to one count of trafficking in marijuana; all three counts of receiving stolen property; and the forfeiture specification. The remaining counts were dismissed.

The indictment alleged that in July 2023, Rodgers “did prepare for shipment, ship, transport, deliver, prepare for distribution or distribute marijuana … in an amount equal to or exceeding 200 grams but less than 1,000 grams.”

The three receiving stolen property are each for incidents in which Rodgers allegedly “did receive, retain or dispose of” motor vehicles — including a Chevrolet Equinox, a Honda Civic and a Honda CRX — in June-July 2023.

Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Rodgers to 11 months on the first receiving stolen property charge, consecutive to 12 months on the second receiving stolen property, 24 months on the trafficking charge and 12 months on the third receiving stolen property charge, for a total of 59 months (four years and 11 months) in prison. Rodgers had two days of jail time credit.

Ordered forfeited, for their alleged “instrumentality in the commission or facilitation of the offense(s),” are six different weapons and related magazines, ammunition and a case, as well as a property on South Railroad Street in Leesburg.

Rodgers was also ordered to make restitution in the amount of $1,019.34 to one victim and $762.49 to another victim.
