TORTOLA — Three Dominican Republic nationals residing in the British Virgin Islands were arrested at sea on Thursday and are facing drug charges in a bust that authorities say yielded $34 million-plus worth of cocaine.
The fishermen’s vessel was intercepted at 11 p.m. in BVI waters during a joint marine operation between the BVI Police Marine Unit and the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, BVI authorities said. A search of the vessel revealed multiple packages believed to be containing cocaine.
